Small Shelves

Using Carbide Base Footers on Speaker Stands

Instructions for using Carbide Base footers on small shelves. For example, the top of a bookshelf speaker stand. Removing the bottoms of the Carbide Base footers and allowing them to hang over the sides of the shelf reduces the shelf space required by the footer. The inner bottom center of the footers are formed into a ridge to maximize coupling with the shelf surface.

Note: This method eliminates the ability to adjust the height of the Carbide Base footers.

1 Completely unscrew and remove the bottom portion of the Carbide Base footer.

2 A For larger equipment and bookshelf speakers, 3 or 4 footers are recommended. Place the footers so that the inner bottom centers are on the shelf and allow the sides to hang off.

Minimum Shelf Width: 20.3 cm (8 in)

Minimum Shelf Depth (3 footers): 17.6 cm (7 in)

Minimum Shelf Depth (4 footers): 20.3 cm (8 in)

Minimum Equipment Width: 12.7 cm (5 in)

2 B For narrow and short equipment and bookshelf speakers, 2 footers can be used. Place the footers so that the inner bottom center are on the shelf and allow the sides to hang off.

Note: Make sure that the equipment is centered over the 2 footers so that the weight is balanced. Do not use with tall equipment with a high center of gravity.

Minimum Shelf Width: 7.5 cm (3 in)

Minimum Shelf Depth: 20.3 cm (8 in)
